PV as a business

Investment solar power plants – a business of selling electricity to the grid

Industrial solar power plants (PV) with a capacity from 1 MW to 10 MW and above are a profitable investment tool that allows generating electricity from renewable sources and selling it to the general power grid. This business model guarantees stable income in the context of rising electricity tariffs and the active development of green energy in Ukraine.

Project implementation stages

  1. Development (feasibility study, site selection, analysis of grid connection possibilities).

  2. Design of an industrial solar power plant.

  3. Turnkey construction of a PV station – installation of solar panels, inverters, and energy storage systems.

  4. Grid connection and licensing for electricity sales.

  5. Maintenance and monitoring to ensure maximum performance.

How PV works for grid electricity sales

Sunlight hits the solar panels.
The solar power plant generates electricity.
Electricity is supplied to the grid.
Electricity is sold to the general grid at special tariffs.

Advantages of ETL Group’s offer

  • We select the ideal land plots for PV installations.
  • We handle all permits from land allocation to expert review.
  • We obtain technical conditions and connect to the power grid with full documentation.
  • We supply high-quality equipment directly from manufacturers.
  • We build the solar plant in compliance with national and international standards.
  • We guarantee the purchase of all generated electricity and sign the necessary contracts.

Solar power plants for business
for self-consumption

PV for self-consumption - is a grid-tied, autonomous, or hybrid solar power plant that generates electricity for personal use.

How PV works for self-consumption

Sunlight hits the solar panels.
The solar power plant generates electricity.
ETL Group - how it works
The generated electricity fully or partially covers your business needs.
ETL Group - how it works
When solar production is insufficient, the remaining energy is supplied from the grid.

Why PV for self-consumption is beneficial for business

  • Reduced electricity costs
  • Increased business profitability through reduced production costs
  • Reduced risk of dependency on rising electricity prices for legal entities
  • Fast return on investment (3–5 years)
  • Easily scalable if needed
  • No additional registration required

On May 9, 2023, the National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Utilities amended the Rules of the Retail Electricity Market..

According to these amendments, every consumer may sign a contract with an electricity supplier to sell surplus electricity exceeding monthly consumption at free market prices.

What does this mean?

For example:
A consumer has a generation unit producing 500 kWh per month but consumes only 300 kWh.
The remaining 200 kWh can be sold to any electricity supplier (of choice) that has a license to produce electricity by signing the corresponding agreement.
The price is not regulated by the state, meaning the consumer can sell electricity at any price agreed upon with the supplier. There are no minimum or maximum limits.
